Lights Not Working
Have your lights suddenly stopped working?
If your lights have suddenly stopped working, there’s usually an issue somewhere within your electrical system that needs attention. Common causes include faulty light fittings, tripped lighting circuits, damaged wiring, faulty switches, or problems within the fuse box.
Sometimes only one room is affected, while other faults can cause lighting problems throughout the property. Our electricians quickly diagnose the issue, carry out safe repairs, and restore your lighting safely and efficiently.
If lights flicker before going out or certain switches trigger the problem, this can often help identify where the fault is coming from. We’ll safely trace the issue and get your lighting working properly again.

Common Lighting Faults We Repair
Lighting problems can happen unexpectedly and may affect a single fitting, one room, or your entire property. Below are some of the most common lighting faults we fix.

Flickering Lights
Lights that flicker regularly may indicate loose wiring, faulty fittings, or problems within the lighting circuit.

Lighting Circuit Failure
If multiple lights stop working at once, a tripped breaker or fault within the lighting circuit may be cutting power.

Faulty Light Switches
Damaged switches or loose connections can prevent lights from working properly or cause intermittent power issues.
What To Do If Your Lights Stop Working
If your lights suddenly stop working, follow these simple safety steps before calling an electrician.
Check your fuse box
See if the lighting circuit has tripped and safely reset it once if appropriate.
Test other rooms
Check whether the issue affects one light, one room, or the entire property.
Avoid damaged fittings
Do not use fittings or switches that smell burnt, spark, or feel unusually warm.
Call an electrician
If lights keep failing or the issue returns repeatedly, professional fault finding may be required.
Lighting faults should always be inspected professionally to keep your electrical system safe.

Also managed to solve our shower issue at the same time. Fixed the issues and was very knowledgeable and happy to talk us through the issues and how he resolved them. Clean and tidy while working and got excellent value for money. Would reccomend to anyone. Thank you so much to Steven.Posted on Martin DonaldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What can I say. I am so paranoid about electricity. Decided to finally wall mount my Dyson vacuum cleaner after 3 years just before Easter. 5 minute job, except when the drill hits a live cable buried in the wall which wasn't picked up by a cable tester. Can't understand why I wasn't thrown across the kitchen as the drill bit was fried. Fridge, cooker etc dead as rfd tripped. I'm thinking, great, that's easter stuffed as I'll never get someone out to fix this. Once reset, all working again except there's a damaged fire potential cable lurking behind the plaster . One of those should have just left it moments! Anyway, phoned electrition contacts out of local directory no availability. Google emergency call outs and this local company appears with great feedback. Make the call, owner, I presume Steve, is out walking the dog but says I will be called back straight away which I am. Upfront cost explained and someone will be round in half an hour. That's exactly what happened, problem sorted plus a few other bits and pieces by a very personable Albanian gentleman. Turns out, if I'd been a few centimeters higher or lower I would have missed it as it was running horizontally! Yes cost a bit more than I was anticipating, but Easter would have been a right off and all was sorted very quickly, very professionally and I did not feel duped at all. So many thanks, great service and would recommend you to anyone in an emergency or just looking at getting some electrical work carried out.Posted on Pauline GuillembetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called Stephen on Sunday for an emergency and he was at my house in under 30 minutes. Really efficient, polite and professional and the price was very fair for a Sunday call-out. Great service and would definitely recommend.Posted on David BakerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. All good David BPosted on Penny JarrettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend!Posted on Kevin Fane-SaundersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found that Stephen was highly professional and went out of his way to ensure that I was a satisfied customer. I simply cannot praise my experience adequately to convey my gratitude and am more than happy to recommend him.Posted on Josh SnellingTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stephen came out within 2 hours to have a look at our boilers fuse which had blown. He took the time to talk us through the diagnostic and show us what went wrong, he was very knowledgeable and was a lovely guy to chat to.
